My Story
Hi, I’m Brian Saemann and I’m a Local Marketing Hero. I’m also a lover of the underdog and a wildly unreasonable person.
The thing is, by definition, reasonable people do reasonable things. They take the world as it is. The rest of us are what Steve Jobs called the crazy ones. The misfits, the rebels, the trouble makers, who challenge the status quo and change the world!
I didn’t build a trillion dollar computer company but I did change my world. And I think I can help you change yours too!
How I Changed My World
I’ve always been interested in having my own business but until a few years ago, I didn’t take any real action to create one. Sure, I had my side hustles - I built an e-commerce website to sell bicycles online, I taught people how to get bartending jobs, I played a lot of poker. But these things were always side hustles, a way to make some extra money while I was stuck in my job managing restaurants in fancy country clubs.
Then one day, I had an epiphany. I realized the skills I’d learned to create e-commerce sites and to sell bartending e-books were in high demand by people with "regular" businesses.
I built a website for a local business association. I did some Google advertising for an acupuncturist. I did some search engine optimization for a wedding venue.
The first website anyone ever paid me to build
The demand was so high, I realized pretty quickly that providing these services for "regular" businesses was going to be my path to freedom. Don’t freak out thinking you’re going to need to learn all these skills to become a Local Marketing Hero. You don’t need to. In fact, it would be a big mistake to learn them.
Nowadays, there are so many places to find people with these finely honed skills who will do the work for you. And that’s how you get leverage to really change your world and life the life you imagined! That website above that took me weeks to build you can get done by a freelancer in days.
The Life of a Local Marketing Hero
Fast forward to today. I don’t personally do any of those services anymore. My main job now is to connect with business owners and make sure my employees & vendors are doing what we can to help them grow their business.
